Lady Hawks Secure Second Conference Win Over No. 8 NMJC

Howard College Women's Basketball totaled a 76-66 victory over No. 8, New Mexico Junior College Monday evening to remain perfect in conference play. 

In the first quarter, the red and black compiled 20 points to the T-Birds' 16. In the second stanza, the Hawks added another 21 while the visitors added 17.  In the final two quarters, the home team added 17 and then 18 points to total 76 on the evening.

Collectively, the red and black went 46.8% from the field, 45% from the three and 69.2% from the line with four steals and four blocked shots. 

Kailyn Berry had a big night with 21 points after going 6-13 from the field, 5-9 from three and 4-4 from the line. Berry also had a steal and led the team with three blocked shots. 

Crystal Aragon totaled 14 points for the Hawks at 60% from the field and 2-3 from the three. Aubre Pox also contributed double digits tonight for Howard College with 11 points and a steal on the evening. Pox was 5-7 from the field and 50% from the line. 

Next up the Hawks will head to Western Texas on Monday, January 19 at 5:45 p.m.
