Bio

With a passion for athletes and human performance, Howard College and Hawk Athletics are proud to welcome Hannah Gartman as the new Athletic Trainer.

Growing up in Forsan, Texas, Hannah was exposed to the world of coaching through her father, who has been a coach in Forsan since she was just one year old. Her childhood was filled with exciting moments on the field, and it was during these formative years that her deep appreciation for sports and the importance of athletic care and sports medicine began to develop.

Hannah's journey into the world of athletic training began in 7th grade when she became a football manager. What started as a simple role evolved into a true passion when she transitioned into becoming a student athletic trainer during her high school years. Graduating from Forsan High School in 2015 as the salutatorian, Hannah's academic excellence paved the way for her future endeavors in the field of sports medicine.

Hannah continued to pursue her passion at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Her thirst for knowledge and hands-on experience led her to intern at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas, where she gained invaluable insights into athletic training.

In 2020, Hannah achieved a significant milestone by earning a Master of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Texas at Arlington. Armed with a license (LAT) and certification (ATC) in athletic training, she was well-prepared to make a meaningful impact in the field.

Throughout her academic journey, Hannah honed her skills through diverse clinical experiences, including work with a 6A high school, UTA's baseball, men's basketball, and men's and women's wheelchair basketball teams, an orthopedic surgeon clinic, semi-professional hockey with the Lone Star Brahmas, and even the XFL with the Dallas Renegades.

Putting her expertise to practical use, Hannah served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Big Spring Junior High and High School for two years, where she provided exceptional care and support to student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being both on and off the field.

With her unwavering dedication, extensive knowledge, and passion for athletic training, Gartman has become an invaluable asset to The Howard College Hawks, where she continues to make a positive impact on the world of sports.

Hannah's journey is a testament to the power of determination, education, and a profound love for athletics, and her commitment to the well-being of athletes makes her a true inspiration to all.
