The Hawks defeated the T-Birds with a 73-55 final for the evening.
In the opening half, the red and black took the lead with a 32-27 advantage going into halftime. The second half saw Howard College put up 41 points to the visitors 28 for a 73-55 final.
Terry Copeland led the team with 17 points at 6-10 from the field and 5-6 from the line with 10 rebounds and two steals.
Dace Pleasant was another big contributor for the Hawks with 12 points finishing 5-7 from the field and 2-3 from the three.
Kuai Deng, Daniel Culberson and Elijah Tshibangu each tallied 10 points for the Hawks. Deng and Culberson each totaled four steals, and Tshibangu added a couple for the home team as well.
Next on the slate for the Hawks is a trip to Snyder to face Western Texas on Monday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m.
