Weekend Split VS NMJC

Friday Firepower: Howard Explodes for 26 in Wild Game One, Splits Doubleheader with NMJC

Game 1: Howard 26, NMJC 18
Howard College kicked off the weekend with an offensive eruption, lighting up the scoreboard for a 26-18 win in a game that felt more like a football shootout than a baseball opener.

The Hawks pounded out 24 hits, scored in six of seven innings, and hung crooked numbers in four different frames—including a seven-run fourth and an eight-run sixth. Every inning felt like a new wave of offense as the lineup stayed aggressive and relentless from start to finish.

Seven home runs powered the onslaught, and the Hawks showcased their depth at the plate with production up and down the order. Howard stayed locked in even as NMJC put up big numbers of their own, answering every push with an even bigger punch. The win was a gritty testament to the team's offensive firepower and resilience in a high-scoring slugfest.

Game 2: NMJC 16, Howard 1
Game two didn't swing the same way for the Hawks, who were held to just three hits and one run in a shortened five-inning game. Howard's lone run came in the fourth inning, but they couldn't string together any consistent offense against a strong NMJC pitching performance.

Despite the setback, Howard came out of Friday with a series split and momentum from a wild game one that proved just how dangerous this lineup can be.

Hawks would go on to split Saturday's games as well winning the first game 10-3 before falling in the second 11-10. Howard will have their home season finale on Friday, April 25th vs Odessa College.
