Kailyn Berry Earns 2nd WJCAC Player of the Week Honor
The week of Jan. 12-18 saw Kailyn Berry dominate the WJCAC again, claiming her second Player of the Week title this season.
"Kailyn has been playing good all season. She made some big shots in the 2nd half to help us get the win over a very good New Mexico team. When her game is on, she is one of the best players in the conference ", stated Head Women’s Basketball Coach Al Davis.
In the game against No. 8 New Mexico, Berry recorded a double-double to lead the Hawks to a 76-66 victory.
The sophomore totaled 21 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks. Berry finished 6-13 from the field and 55% from the three.
“She is always in the gym, and it shows when she is on the floor. I am very proud of her for receiving her second Player of the Week award”, commented Davis.
This is the third WJCAC Player of the Week honor Berry has received since playing for the Hawks. In her freshman year here, Berry received her first WJCAC Player of the Week honor. This season, Berry has two under her belt with 10 conference games remaining.
